29 March 2024Compressed air is an energy carrier that, despite its high generation cost, is flexible and safe to use in industry.
It is used in all MOTOVARIO process steps, e.g. for blowing (cleaning processing swarf), for feeding tool machine and assembly line cylinders, for drying parts after washing, for operating screwdrivers and for testing our products.
In order to maximise the production of compressed air and make it more efficient, Motovario has implemented several improvement projects:
· A new control unit has been installed to seamlessly coordinate the operation of different compressors, dryers or filters with unprecedented efficiency
· Specific emergency maintenance activities have been organised for the most energy-intensive devices, resulting in a drop in system pressure of 0.4 bar
· Scheduled maintenance activities have been organised to search for and repair any leaks around the plant to minimise losses
The improvement activities implemented saved 140MWh (-13%) in 2023, saving 97 tonnes of CO2 equivalent to approximately the amount absorbed in the same period by 1450 trees!
