Through co-engineering activities with an OEM, Motovario has successfully developed state-of-the-art motors for a sophisticated satellite telecommunications system. The project involved positioning and moving antennas with the utmost accuracy and reliability at temperatures as low as -50°C.

The compact helical and helical bevel geared motors supplied feature a specialist paint coating that can withstand extreme conditions without deteriorating. Designed according to the precise specifications of our Technical Sales Support team, the customised, reinforced casing extends the service life of the gear reducer, enabling it to withstand prolonged stress. Using specific internal components designed for low temperatures ensures full operational functionality and smooth movement.

The coupled motor is equipped with weatherproof devices and IP66 protection, which effectively prevent ice and snow from entering. The motors are complemented by a vector inverter, enabling extremely precise control and intermittent operation to optimise energy consumption. This combination of Motovario engineering solutions ensures that the antenna’s moving parts operate flawlessly and have an extended operational lifespan – two key factors for telecommunications infrastructure in such challenging environments.
