A real quarterly award ceremony that will see the limelight on the group of people set to bring operational improvements in production departments.

SMED – Single-Minute (digit) Exchange of Dies – is one of the key terms of Lean production. The goal is to quickly and efficiently structure the set-up of the machines to make it quicker to move to the processing of the next product. This allows for greater flexibility and reduces product lead time to better follow customer demand.

This way, Motovario expects to reduce every code change on machine tools by 50% and thereby have smaller production batches.

This quarter the prize goes to the “worm shaft turning" team area 01, who carried out a detailed study on the times and movements of each stage of the operation, and reduced machine tooling times by over 50%.
