In the energy industry, the application of Motovario reducers is found both in traditional production plants and those of alternative energy.

Gearmotors are used, for example, to adjust the speed position of generic valve systems in steam, gas, hydro and nuclear energy systems; to move material/fuel (e.g. coal, oil or gas) via belt or screw conveyor; in mixers and agitators. Motovario products are widely used also to regulate and manage the movement of solar. 

The machinery used in this industry has clear characteristics that must be satisfied by all installed components, including gearmotors: high reliability, low noise levels and high safety, extremely balanced performance, excellent efficiency, good transmissible torque and low maintenance costs, high resistance to external stress, a high service factor and compact design especially for valves.
