Motovario operates any kind of pump

Peristaltic pumps are a type of positive displacement pump used for pumping fluids.

The pumping principle, called peristalsis, is based on alternating compression and relaxation of the hose where the fluid flows in a constant but uneven manner.

When the pump motor is powered directly from the mains, each start-up requires a large amount of energy to overcome the inertia of the motor and the connected pump and frequent start-ups require a significant amount of energy.

If a pump needs to dose or dispense product in variable quantities, operation with mains power forces the motor to run at a speed corresponding to 50Hz on the mains, forcing the design engineer to put in place a dosing system that ‘chokes’ the outlet duct to supply the desired amounts.

Motovario provides integrated solutions to manage the pump with Gear Reducers, Motors and Inverters that are highly reliable, offer great energy savings and even performance without stressing the mechanical side of the machine and extend its service life, reducing maintenance on it as well.

The drive usually consists of a 4-pole motor, which can come in different sizes depending on the dimensions of the pump;

The pump normally operates at a speed between 10 and 140 revs/minute.

For this kind of application, Motovario offers a solution:

  • with a unique design ensuring higher performance and smaller overall axial dimensions;
  • easy maintenance, thanks to shorter replacement times and lower costs;
  • with noise levels lower than those required by current environmental/safety regulations.

Available gear reducer sizes range from NMRV030 to NMRV Power size 090, while the motor power to be installed is chosen based on the fluid output speed and on the type of fluid. It can vary from 0.25 kW up to 2.2 kW.

However, the most important requirement for those using the peristaltic pump lies in full control over the motor for accurate and effective management, as well as energy savings.

Motovario has two comprehensive solutions:

  1. an integrated one in the motor and gear reducer: DRIVON
  2. a remote one, with the inverter near the motor: F510.

Thanks to the Drivon Inverter, the users of the peristaltic pump can:

  • provide the correct speed to the pump and then assign the exact power it requires
  • install the entire drive in heavy-duty environments, as it comes with a IP66 protection rating
  • manage multiple start-ups effectively, thereby ensuring considerable energy savings
  • install the inverter without any kind of electrical panel

if it is not possible to install the inverter on the motor, Motovario offers an alternative solution with the F510 series featuring a IP56 protection rating. It can be installed near the pump and provide a series of features to ensure pump control and online diagnostics.
